Germany-based Bruckner Textile Technologies has sold 100 textile finishing machines to apparel factory entrepreneurs in Bangladesh since 2005, said officials the machine’s distributor Pacific Associates Limited, Bangladesh.
The distributor’s service chief Ershad Islam told New Age on Sunday that procurement rate of Bruckner’s finishing machines in five years was 70 per cent of the total procurement of textile finishing machines in Bangladesh.
Each machine costs a factory about Tk 10 crore, almost double the amount needed for buying a similar machine manufactured in China, India, Taiwan and South Korea, Ershad said.
A Bruckner finishing machine offers higher capacity of production than other similar machines available on the market, Ershad said, adding the machines could produce a little more than 10 tonnes of fabric a day.
He said in general, the demand for machines such as dying and knitting machines made in other European countries had also increased in Bangladesh in recent times.
