Apparel Workers to get benefits under new Pay Scale in December

State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnojan Sufian today said that the festival allowances to the garments workers ahead of the Eid-ul Azha would be paid as per the wage structure of October considering the present situation of the apparel industry.

The readymade garments workers would get benefits of the newly announced increased wage scale from first week of December as the new wage scale would be effective from November 1, she said.

State Minister was presiding over a meeting with leaders of 48 organizations of garments sector at the conference room of the ministry here today, an official handout said.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labor and Employment Ministry Israfil Alam, secretary of Labor Ministry Md Nurul Haque, and concerned officials were present.

State Minister urged all concerned including garments owners, workers and government officials for working together in maintaining stability in the garments sector and resolving all problems related to wages and allowances.
