The board would separately meet representatives of the two sides, decided its chairman Iktedar Ahmed.
Separate meetings with the factory owners and the workers’ leaders, said a member, would help the board better understanding the arguments of the two sides.
The board feels, he said, it could help narrow down the gap between the demand and the offer.
A member told New Age that the board would have a meeting with the factory owners at BGMEA office on June 24 and on the same day it would meet the workers organisations at the office of BILLS.
The labour and employment ministry on January 14 asked the Minimum Wages Board to revise apparel workers’ wages taking the rising cost of living into consideration.
